Pasta Primavera

Tonight's post was supposed to be Sweet and Sour Pork BUT my phone thought it would be a good idea to not save any pictures I took tonight.. BOO!  It is a chilly day here in New Haven, CT and I am a little excited for fall.  Today seemed like the perfect day to fry and bake something.

Enough with that, on with the recipe!   I believe I found this on Allrecipes.com

PASTA PRIMAVERA

Ingredients
  • 1 (8 ounce) package dry pasta
  • 1/4 cup margarine
  • 1 envelope dry vegetable soup mix
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese

Here are the ingredients I used and how I prepared it:

I substitute almond milk for regular milk in this recipe.  I also add more parmesan cheese and veggies!

Start by boiling the water for the noodles and melting the butter in the pan:

Mix together milk, veggie soup mix and flour:

The water should be boiling by now so add noodles!

Now that the noodles are boiling, go ahead and add the flour soup milk mixture to the pan:

Heat to a boiling then reduce to a simmer and add garlic (about a tablespoon, this is not part of the original recipe!!):

Now set the timer on the stove for 3 minutes....  when the timer goes off, throw your veggies in (steam bag style) into the microwave.  These require 5 1/2 minutes to cook:

When the veggies are done, let them sit in the microwave.  Set the timer for 3 minutes.  Add parmesan cheese to your sauce mixture:

Stir in paremesan.  With 1 minute remaining on timer, add broccoli.

Serve over pasta!

PLEASE LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU THINK!
